{Tomorrow is Heart Therapy and we are going to be writing about our fears. What fears do we have about life, ourselves, our future. Where did they come from, why do we have them, and how can we over come them. What are the stopping us from doing that we really want to?}

Christmas Ornament Exchange 2011!!

Here it is yall!
Thanks so much for all your input and advice on how to best go about doing this. I am very excited to see how it turns out!
We will be doing one ornament and leave the cookies for your grandma and mom to give you;)

This is how it will work....

  • on November 5th I will open a linky where I need you to link up a small post about the exchange. It will be open through that next Wednesday the 9th. This way I have all the participants in one place.

  • Email me at eisymorgan{at}gmail{dot}com after you have linked up with where you want the ornament sent, AKA your address. I will then email you back your exchange partner's address. If you do not have a blog and can not link up please email me or leave your email in the comments so I can make sure to include you.
(We will be sending to the same people in order to try and get to know one another better)

  • Please help me spread the word by putting the button in your sidebar or pinning the flyer to pinterest! {you guys are the ones who will help this be a great success and the more the merrier right?}

  • You can create an ornament from hand or purchase one, it is up to you. Make it fun, personal, include a family recipe, be creative!!
  • Make sure you mail your ornament no later than December 11th to be sure they have it for their tree in time!

  • Once you have received your ornament take a picture or two and write up a post where I will host another linky!

  • The most creative ornaments/posts will be featured here as well!!

The linky will go live next Friday and I will re-post this once more next week as a reminder!
I know some of you already emailed me about this when I asked for your input but I ask you please email me again once you link up!

Can you believe that this is already Holiday Season??
I can't!

I look forward to sharing with you!!

Sweet Apple Butter Recipe

Corn Maze 001

I first saw this amazing idea recently here, and decided to try my own!

It is so simple, you really should try it!

I followed this recipe from Skinny Taste loosely as I didn’t have all it called for.

Corn Maze 004
  • 7 apples, peeled, cored, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Place the apples in a slow cooker.

Top with sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg and mix well.

Cover and cook on low 10 hours, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is thickened and dark brown.

{If you have an immersion blender use this at the end, see the Skinny Taste recipe for details, I didn’t have one so I left mine chunky! Just as good!!}

Blogging 101: Blogging Reality with Katie from Love is Everywhere

    Welcome back to Blogging Reality

Today we have Katie from Love is Everywhere!!
SHe has a wonderful blog that is full of people's true love stories amongst other amazing posts and Katie's great photography!

Let's learn from this amazing blogger...

          Here is Katie.....

What is your favorite season and why? Spring is my favorite season. Besides the weather being absolutely perfect (in my eyes), I feel that it wakes you up after those inactive Winter months. It’s like seeing a beautiful actor on the TV screen that immediately perks your interest, yes you all have done that. Spring does that for me! I’m ready for all of the fun adventures outdoors and photos to be taken.

What do you do when you are not blogging? I take my camera with me pretty much, wherever I go. Whether, it’s finding random places or being at destination such as a family or friends home, I live for taking photos. I also have a little puppy, Peanut and two cats so I love being around them.

What is one post you are really proud of? I’m proud of how many people have been inspired by my blog. I receive numerous e-mails a week from all over the world. Some days, I will have bad days and just reading something so sweet that what they read or a simple photo I took helped them get through a really bad time, makes every moment that I blog worth it.

Who are some bloggers you look up to and why? I absolutely love Sydney at The Daybook (http://www.thedaybookblog.com/) She’s open, honest and quite funny. Over the last year I’ve watched her blog grow and I think of how many people she’s effected. Also, one of my first friends I met blogging Lindsay from Scenic Glory (http://scenicglory.blogspot.com/) has always been an inspiration. I watched her grow in her blog and then create her own business which then inspired me to start an Etsy Shop with my photography. These women are truly amazing.

What does an average week look like for you in upkeep for your blog? When I come home from work I try to catch up on all of my favorite blogs and go through any e-mails I may have. That can take a good few hours. I then work on what I’m going to blog about for that day. If there’s photos needed I spend time capturing some fun moments to share with my bloggy friends. Upkeeping with my blog could be and should be a full time job because I dedicate so much of myself and mind into it.

What do you think the average blogger doesn’t realize about being a success? How much time it truly takes. If you really want to be successful you’ll find that you need to dedicate a lot of time to your blog. Take in what fellow readers recommend to you. Take in their feelings to.

Do you set goals for your blog? Yes, when I first started off I began what is called the 30 Days of Truth (http://loveiseverywhere.blogspot.com/p/30-days-of-truth.html) I wanted to work my way into starting off completely truthful with fellow readers and be able to open myself up to what I would soon be doing every day. It worked. I learned things about myself during those 30 days and I was proud with the end result. From there my goal was to touch as many people as possible with my blog. To spread love in every direction. To this day that is still my main goal.

What is one (or some) of your pet peeves in the blogging world? Spam comments. I had to say it! I truly dislike getting those and maybe one day there will be a better filter system so I don’t have to even see those comments come through my e-mail. Granted they are not posted on my actual blog, it’s still quite disturbing, haha.

What are the most important activities for growing your blog? I remember when I first started out I joined tons of Blog Hops as well hosted them. Those are great because then you have a list of blogs that you can go one by one through and learn about. There’s a diverse amount of writers out there but it’s hard to search in Google. That’s why I recommend blog hops. Also, participating in Awards. I’m unsure how popular it is now but there was amazing amount of Blog Awards in the Blogosphere when I first began. People nominate who they feel is a great blogger. You can learn so much about someone and find some great successful blogs to be inspired by. There is also sponsoring which a lot of bloggers (myself included) do. It helps to give more exposure to blogs. Also, Guest Posts are great. If you can reach out to other bloggers and ask to Guest Post or host a Giveaway. Those are wonderful ideas to help grow your blog.

What do you do when you have “writers block” or a dry period? Sometimes you get writer’s block. That has happened to me on more than one occasion. It’s okay. I know a lot of people that get that and they seem to give up because they feel they’ll never find something to write about. It will come to you. At that point you need to step away from the keyboard and find ways to clear your mind. It could be days or weeks. I will find new music to listen to, or go walk around my yard or some close location. I’ll people watch because sometimes a simple act someone does just immediately brings thoughts flowing through your mind.

Do you have one or two things you would credit the success of your blog to? The first would be all of the wonderful friends I made because they’ve helped to spread the world. That’s key to being successful. Writing about things that others care just as passionately as you do. The second I would say is letting myself be open. Without being yourself and putting your all into it a blog can’t possibly exist.

What advice would you give to bloggers who want to grow their blogs? The first most important thing is finding out what you’d like to blog about. Make a list of things that make you happy. Perhaps, you want to write about cooking. I know many successful bloggers that share their own recipes and have such an enormous following. Perhaps, you want it strictly about your Photography business, that too is successful. Whatever it is you really need to define your blog. Once you do start going out and getting motivation. I carry a little notepad with me because at any time during the day I may come up with a thought. If I don’t write it down, it’ll be gone in seconds and never to be written about. Be open and honest. If you choose to hide your identity, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. There are many successful bloggers that choose not to divulge who they are. Be open to others opinions. If you are going to write about something that may get negative feedback, be open minded about it. Research and being following other blogs. You’ll find so much inspiring by just a simple post, story or photo. There’s a world of other talented minds just as yourself, you just need to find them.
    Thanks so much Katie!
Make sure you stop by her blog and follow you won't regret it!!

October Blizzard? Why I love changing seasons!

    firstsnowwinter11 086

It has been snowing for the past 15 hours, it is crazy! I am from southern California, and although this will be my second winter in Denver it is still always a bit shocking and exciting when the weather does something like this. Last year it didn’t snow much till well after the middle of November.

    firstsnowwinter11 062

My son, also doesn’t remember much of the snow from last year I am assuming. He was so little. So he had so much fun playing out in it today, wondering what on earth it was and why it was covering his little bike.

    firstsnowwinter11 089

Granted, I hope that this snow season isn’t settling in quite yet as we haven’t even really embraced fall completley, but they say we will be back in the mid 60’s by the end of the week.

    firstsnowwinter11 076

Snow days put me in a good mood. Who knows why? There is just something cozy and romantic about them don’t you think? I have my great smelling candles burning, the heater blasting, a nice movie on, a warm cup of coffee with peppermint mocha creamer and sitting watching the snow accumulate on the bannister and trees outside.

    firstsnowwinter11 025firstsnowwinter11 088

If you were to ask me what my favorite season is, I would tell you the one that is coming. I love them all. I love enjoying the one that we are in just enough and then looking forward to the next one as well. Denver is great for this as there are such distinct seasons as well.

    firstsnowwinter11 020

The thing with seasons is, you know a change is coming, you know it is inevitable, but you still don’t know when it’s going to happen. In a way its something to look forward to, a change of pace, maybe even a surprise.

    firstsnowwinter11 060
When you are in a tough place in life this is such a place of hope. That you know a change is coming, things always change, that is what life is all about. Perhaps there are a few surprises in store as well.

    firstsnowwinter11 072

“and even when the trees have just surrendered to the harvest time, forfeiting their leaves in late September and sending us inside. Still I notice YOU when change begins and I am braced for colder winds. I will offer thanks for what has been and what's to come. YOU are Autumn….

and everything in time and under heaven. Finally falls asleep. Wrapped in blankets white all creation shivers underneath and still I notice you when branches crack and my breath on frosted glass, even now in death you open doors for life to enter. YOU are winter…
and everything that’s new has bravely surfaced teaching us to be.

What was frozen through is newly purposed

turning all things green. So it is with YOU and how you make me new with every seasons change. So it will be, as you are re-creating me. Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring.”
