I miss Northern Ireland

With St. Patricks only a couple days away
I can't help but think of my time in
Northern Ireland
I lived there for three years,
it was an AMAZING experience.
It was both the hardest and best time of my life.
Some of the best people and friends I have ever known were my friends there
They are some of the most hilarious,
fun loving, and highly SARCASTIC people
you will ever meet and I miss them terribly.
They can keep the constant rain, but the summers were beautiful with the sun staying up until 11:00 pm, the food was so fattening and therefore GOOD, and the memories
I made are some of my most cherished!
Have been thinking about that time and those friends so I thought I would share a few of my memories with you!

What was I doing there?
I was there first with YWAM (Youth with a Mission) and then returned to work with YFC (Youth for Christ).
I did a little of everything but the longest position was working with a performing arts team that went into schools and did singing, dancing, and dramas
I was roped into singing and dancing my first year! HA!!
Now I love dancing, singing..is a WHOLE other story!
I could talk about it for hours, but here are a few pics instead!!

Have you guys been able to travel much? I miss it so much!

Beautiful pictures! I have always wanted to go to Ireland! You are so lucky to have lived there! I hope you get to go back soon!

Ashley,

It looks amazing! I meant to ask you why you lived in Ireland and I am glad I know now :) I remember going to London with my husband a few years ago and everything was just as green as in your pics. Even though it was January or February ;) I am glad you had such a great experience. I think it is so important to learn about other cultures and enjoy their foods (especially the fattening ones) and friendships. My next great adventure will be raising our son to be bilingual... Should be fun! By the way, you wanted to know if I have an accent or not. Well, I am told that I don't. People usually don't know that I am German if I don't tell them and then they sometimes don't believe me ;) haha I think that if you listen closely to certain words you could probably pick it up but overall people tend to tell me that I don't have an accent. So I guess I'll take it :) Sometimes I think it's nice to not have to explain to every single person where I'm from and why I'm here.

Hope you're having a wonderful day!

Wow, it looks so incredible!
I think I see those places in my daydreams :)

We have visited Ireland but we went to County Cork and stayed in Kinsale for a little over a week. It was the BEST vacation of my life. Ireland is one amazing country, the people are so amazing and kind, the food = yum, and the beverages were delicious! I can't wait until I can go back again someday! Thanks for posting your pics, It totally took me back.

Oh my friend.... I miss it so much too!!The hardest and best time is such a great way to describe it!!!

Wonderful pictures!!! How great that you have such beautiful memories of your time there. Hope you can go visit again soon!!

What a great experience! I really haven't traveled at all and I feel like I'm missing out. I was just talking to my husband the other day about how he thought it would be a great trip to go see Ireland. I've heard some great stories from friends who have gone there.

Wonderful pictures and emories! I really thought the people in Ireland were fabulous, fun, and friendly. I would go back in a heartbeat. I love to travel, pretty much anywhere. London is the home of my heart though.

Beautiful pictures! My hubby and I went to southern and western Ireland for about 2 weeks one summer. It was gorgeous--I fell in love with the country and people. My husband loves to travel, so he made me wait on kids for three years so we could do some traveling together--so glad we did! We have been to Costa Rica, Cabo, the Bahamas, Ireland, London, Italy, Germany, Austria, Greece, Switzerland, Hawaii (and all over the USA). We talk about our trips all the time and love the memories!
After just 10 or so days in Ireland, I got an accent with words like "forty" and "wee" and "Ireland--they say it fast like Irelin". Did you get an accent after 3 years there?

Ahhhhhhh!! I've traveled to Northern Ireland...WITH you!!!!!! :) I miss it so much too! Beautiful picture!!
